traditional instruments including Border pipes and a variety of medieval woodwind, Rough Musicke's sound combines
early music traditions and raucous percussion.
Inspired
by folk and early music groups from the continent, the band aims to bring traditional tunes to new audiences. With
a strong rythmn section, Rough Musicke play danceable melodies in a style rarely heard in the UK.
Rough Musicke perform at outdoor events, festivals and fairs, medieval and heritage
events, castles and stately homes, processions and street festivals on acoustic instruments designed to be heard across field
and battle... Equally suited to indoor performances, we can play for dances, medieval banquets, weddings and other celebrations.
We can also programme sets for concerts, and tailor educational sessions for schools and colleges.
